A Personal Care Agreement is an agreement for a person who wants or needs a personal care attendant in order to remain living at home. Personal Care Agreements discuss what care will be provided and provide for compensation for the person providing the care. For certain purposes, it is required to have the Personal Care Agreement in writing. Also, having the agreement in writing protects both parties. It can be made short and simple or comprehensive, depending on the Client’s wishes and circumstances. One factor to take into account is whether the caregiver is a family member. Another factor is whether the agreement is for a short term, or is expected to continue for a number of years.
